Sinita ng Customs examiner sa NAIA Terminal 2 ang isang bakasyonistang galing sa Amerika. Nakita kasi sa x-ray machine ang mamahaling gamit sa kanyang bagahe na nagkakahalaga ng halos P500,000.

There are two (2) different incidents. The first is a clear violation of the law by a Filipino from the US with the intent of smuggling the watches through the airport. Customs has the right to x-ray and inspect/open incoming luggage at the airport and impose duty accordingly. The second incident is a different story. This is about balikbayan box sent by an OFW from Saudi through LBC (not a check-in luggage!). The box arrived with box opened and some contents missing. I cannot speculate as the box was maybe inspected by customs and was not returned back to its original packing or the box was left exposed to the elements. What I can say with this second incident: For balikbayan boxes from middle east I highly recommend the non-opening of these boxes by customs or implement x-ray of boxes and only to be opened in the presence of the consignee. Note: Customs should not waste their time in inspecting balikbayan boxes particularly from middle east.
yon nmn pla gumagana nmn pla xray machine bakit kaylanga buksan
